The bakers of A&J King Artisan Bakers literally wore out the bread oven in the bakery on the ground floor of the Derby Lofts condominiums at 48 Central St.
While the downtown bakery is still open and selling crunchy, handcrafted baguettes and yummy baked goods, co-owner Andy King says, “We are not baking down there anymore. That stuff is all broken.”
His wife, co-owner Jackie King, says while they managed to salvage some of the baking equipment, the bread oven was toast and is now gone.
