Three New Members Join ABA Board Of Directors

The American Bakers Association is proud to announce the appointment of three new members to its 2010-2012 Board of Directors.

Chris Finck, senior vice president at Sara Lee Fresh Bakery, and Larry Marcucci, president of Alpha Baking Company, have joined the board as of May 2010. Both bring to the table extensive experience in baking and the larger food industry. Mr. Finck replaces outgoing director Jim Nolan, Sara Lee’s former CEO and longtime ABA participant and supporter.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Finck and Mr. Marcucci to the Board of Directors. They both bring a wealth of knowledge and experience from their respective careers and we look forward to the valuable guidance and contributions they will surely bring to our organization,” said ABA President & CEO Robb MacKie.

Additionally, ABA has appointed J. Bowman Williams, president of B.C. Williams Bakery Service, as the board’s special allied at-large representative. His two-year term will begin immediately.

“Mr. Williams’ diverse experience and understanding of the industry makes him the perfect voice for ABA’s supplier companies, who have always been an integral component of our membership,” MacKie continued. “The partnership between our bakers and suppliers will thrive under his leadership.”

The ABA Board of Directors is comprised of executives from across the baking industry who volunteer their time to develop consensus policies that improve the government environment and overall health of the baking industry. Allen Shiver, president of Flowers Foods, is serving as the board’s chairman through March 2012.
