Wholesale Venture Lands Bigger Cut Of Pie

RIPON – In the past three years, John Burgess has turned a small pie-making business to a wholesale bakery.

He’s the owner of The Pie Company, manufacturers of a line of fresh fruit pies while using only the finest ingredients. Flavors include apple, apricot, blackberry, blueberry, boysenberry, peach, strawberry and rhubarb, to name a few.

According to the official website, www.thepieco.com, “We strive to bring you the premium quality product just like grandma made it.”

For Thanksgiving, Burgess, who is a 2005 graduate of Sierra High, has been kept busy as of late filling orders for the seasonal pumpkin pies to 25 businesses located in San Joaquin, Merced, Stanislaus and Contra Costa counties.
