Horizon Organic® today announced the family farmer recipients of two annual awards: the HOPE Award, which honors farmers who advocate organic agriculture; and the Quality Award, which recognizes the Horizon farmer who produces the highest quality organic milk in the entire Horizon milk supply.

Upstate Farms To Begin Yogurt Production In Upstate NY

Yogurt production will resume at the North Lawrence Dairy plant as soon as next month, according to the plant’s new ownership. Upstate Niagara Cooperative purchased the former Breyers Yogurt Plant from Healthy Food Holdings in May. Healthy Food Holdings ended production in April, putting 137 out of work.

Sierra Nevada Cheese Company received a 1st place award at the American Cheese Society‘s Annual Judging Competition in Montreal, Quebec on Friday, August 5th, 2011. ACS awarded Capretta Rich & Creamy plain as the best unflavored yogurt made from goat milk.

Deja Moo Milk Taken Off Walmart Shelves

Deja Moo, a labor of love for Jim Odney for the past decade, disappeared from shelves about two weeks ago. It had only been available in Walmart stores in Fargo and Dilworth as part of a test-marketing program.
