Shirley Pennimen’s job at a tech firm leaves her wanting for an analog hobby, something to get her out of the house and in contact with her surroundings. Mission College in Santa Clara gives Pennimen precisely that opportunity–and teaches her how to make money from it, too. Pennimen is one of about 90 students enrolled in the retail floristry program at Mission College, one of the only programs of its kind.
