Chef John Folse Chosen As New Louisiana Seafood Board Chairman

Twenty-five years after John Folse opened his first restaurant at the foot of the Sunshine Bridge in Donaldsonville, the renowned Louisiana chef has been continually committed to the culture and cuisine of the state and the people so dear to his heart. Folse was recently reappointed to the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board by Governor Jindal to serve as a marketing specialist. In a special board meeting held to elect officers and review bylaws, he was selected to serve as the new Seafood Board chairman.

Galveston Shrimp Company Recalls Pre-Packaged Texas Gulf Shrimp

Galveston Shrimp Company has issued a precautionary voluntary recall of its pre-packaged Texas Gulf Shrimp due to foreign material found in a bag. The pre-packaged bags are shipped to HEB Stores. Customers who recently purchased pre-packaged Gulf Shrimp are encouraged to check their refrigerators and/or freezers.
