Brookshire Grocery Co.'s Products Earn Top Honors In National Competition

East Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Co.’s manufacturing team took top honors March 2 for operations and product quality at the All Star Dairy Association’s annual convention in Ft. Myers, Fla.

The company was honored with Best Sour Cream Award, Best Buttermilk Award, and the “Doc” Lawrence Most Improved Plant Award for its dairy operations. The company also received “Exceeds Industry Standards” honors for the dairy and ice cream plants.

The All Star Dairy Association reviewed some 250 dairy and ice cream plants in 45 states, as well as in Canada and Puerto Rico. The ASDA goes through a rigorous, yearlong process of evaluating plants and products to determine the winners.

“Our manufacturing team produces excellent products that we are proud to serve to our customers and to our families,” said Rick Rayford, BGC president and CEO. “We take the quality and taste of our products very seriously and perform regular audits to ensure the sanitation and safety of our manufacturing plants. The products we offer are top-notch, and we are excited to have them recognized in a national arena.”
