Dairy Farmers Of America Moves Milk Depot To Weld County, Colorado

Dairy Farmers of America will move its milk delivery depot from Henderson in Adams County to Weld County, a DFA representative said Monday.

DFA, a cooperative owned by dairy farmers, is moving to the northwest corner of Weld County roads 47 and 64, according to Weld planning documents.

The move comes as the cooperative's business has shifted from the Denver area to Northern Colorado, where dairy farmers produce milk for manufacturers such as Leprino, Meadow Gold and Kroger, said Wade Meek, member services director for DFA in Colorado.

"Denver was our main market for a lot of years," Meek said. "But with the growth of customers here in Northern Colorado, both in Greeley and Fort Morgan, it just makes sense for us to have our main depot up here."
