Which new dairy product is poised to take over Greek yogurt’s mantle as the break out snack of the moment? So far, none seems quite ready, but there are plenty of new competitors.

It is hard to compete with yogurt’s dominance in the dairy section. The $7.2 billion category has only become more popular this century, with consumption increasing 4.3 percent in the past year, according to Chicago-based IRI .

Greek yogurt, which makes up 40 percent of yogurt consumption in the U.S., has paved the way for stronger, global flavors, as demonstrated by the introduction of Aussie-, European-, and Vietnamese-style yogurts.
