Lactalis Opens for Business Educator Exchange Tours in Idaho

NAMPA —With an unemployment rate of less than 3%, Idaho businesses are struggling to find enough workers with specific skills. The Business Educator Exchange, an Idaho Department of Labor program, seeks to alleviate that problem by connecting Treasure Valley educators with businesses.

On Thursday, the Business Educator Exchange program took dozens of educators on a tour of Lactalis Group’s Nampa cheese-making factory.

“One of the things that this program does, is it allows for the teachers to hear from those individuals that are working in the field and the challenges that they are facing,” said Ofelia Morales, workforce consultant with the Labor Department. “We hope that they come back and they educate their students and make their students aware of these opportunities.”
