Oakhurst Dairy Focuses Retail Sales Team With Addition Of Ed Crockett

PORTLAND, MAINE — Oakhurst Dairy, northern New England’s largest independent family-owned dairy company, announced today that W. Edward Crockett (Ed) has joined the company as its Retail Sales Director. Crockett will have direct sales responsibility for the mass merchant, drug and club segments. He will also have management responsibility for the grocery and convenience segments. Reporting to Crockett will be Jim Carvalho, Sales Manager – Chain Grocery, Dwayne Dunn, Sales Manager – Chain C-store, Andy Russell, Sales Manager – Independents/Wholesalers and Jeff Reinold, Sales Service Supervisor.

"Ed’s prior sales experience with a direct store delivery food company and his category management experience make him a great addition to our team," said Jim Lesser, VP of Marketing & Sales. "With Ed leading our Retail channel and Jeff Roth managing our Foodservice/Distributor channel we are staffed to better compete within our markets."

Crockett joins the Oakhurst team with more than 20 years of consumer product sales and management in the food and beverage industry in Maine. Most recently he was the category manager at Hannaford Brothers in Scarborough. Prior to that he served in a variety of executive roles including Vice President of Sales and Customer Service for Gofish.com (Portland), Vice President Perishables and Business Development for Parker-Tilton Food Brokers (Scarborough) and Vice President of Marketing/Sales for Lepage Bakeries (Auburn).

Crockett is a Portland native and resides there today with his family. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting/ Journalism from the University of Orono and a Masters in Business Administration from Boston College School of Management. Sports remain a passion and when he is not attending his kids activities or working he finds time to play basketball and run.
