Oregon Dairy Industries Names Umpqua Dairy's John Harvey As President

Roseburg, OR – Oregon Dairy Industries, also known as ODI, inducted John Harvey, Director of Plant Operations at Umpqua Dairy Products, Co. as their President for the 2015-2016 term at the 104th Annual ODI Conference held in Salem on April 15th.  In his newly elected position, Harvey will be responsible for overseeing the regional organization, including industry related educational training, organizing the annual convention and developing relationships with local and regional governments to promote the Oregon dairy industry.

ODI, was founded in 1910, and was formed to promote and elevate interest in the dairy products of the Pacific Northwest.  ODI works to foster and encourage the dairy industry in the region.  ODI is made up of dairy plants, suppliers and academic/government members from Oregon, Washington and Idaho that process, distribute and manufacture dairy products in our area.

Harvey is in good company, as he is the ninth Umpqua Dairy employee have held the title of ODI President.   Past ODI Presidents from Umpqua Dairy include; Pat Sullivan (1962), Trueman Goodwin (1967), Bob Feldkamp (1972), Clyde Rogers (1977), Ralph Lesh (1983), Wink West (1991), Tom Rise (1996) and Steve Hunnicutt (2006).

Harvey has been with Umpqua Dairy for 33 years, and has spent the last 7 years as the Director of Plant Operations.  He was born and raised in the Roseburg area, and has been married to his wife Jenny for 31 years and has three kids, Brodie, Blake and Dylan.
