40 Cheesemakers, 200 Cheeses Featured At Nov. 1 Meet The Cheesemaker Gala

MADISON, Wis. – More than 40 artisan cheesemakers will sample 200 cheeses at the Fifth Annual Meet the Cheesemaker Gala, slated for Friday, Nov. 1 at the Monona Terrace Ballroom in Madison.

Hosted by Wisconsin Cheese Originals, the theme of the Gala is “The Arrival of American Artisan Cheese.” Cheesemakers and artisan food producers from across the Midwest will gather to celebrate the Fifth Annual Wisconsin Cheese Originals Festival. Tickets are $34 and are available at www.wicheesefest.com.

The Meet the Cheesemaker Gala is ticketed in two time slots, from 6 to 8 p.m., and 8 to 10 p.m. Each session is limited to 300 attendees, allowing attendees to personally meet cheesemakers in a festive setting featuring a local bluegrass band, Point Five. Attendees should come ready to sample and then purchase their favorite cheeses at the expanded Metcalfe’s Marketplace inside the Gala.

In addition, tickets are still available for Saturday educational seminars, which kick off with a 10:30 a.m. keynote by national cheese expert Laura Werlin. Following lunch and cheese and chocolate pairing in the Grand Terrace, an afternoon seminar explores a Wisconsin original cheese vs. European traditional cheese duel. Afterward, attendees may choose from two afternoon sessions pairing cheese with craft beer and fine brandy. All-day Saturday tickets are $89, with each seminar also available for separate purchase.
