Cheese, Cheese, and More Cheese at Ohio Swiss Festival

SUGARCREEK As has been the case for more than 60 years, cheese will again reign supreme at the 67th Ohio Swiss Festival.

For many years Millersburg-based Guggisberg Cheese has reigned as Grand Champion Cheesemaker. That held true in 2018. Guggisberg had won the honor for six consecutive years prior to 2017 when Pearl Valley Cheese was named Grand Champion.

Richard and Anne Guggisberg are owners of Guggisberg Cheese. Mike Womacks is plant manager at Guggisberg Cheese Doughty Valley where Baby Swiss is produced. Kyle Bennett is production manager at the Sugarcreek plant where Swiss Cheese is produced. About 67,000 pounds of Swiss cheese is produced at the Sugarcreek Plant on a daily basis and is shipped nationwide.
