Faith Of New Owners Borne Out As Battistoni Italian Specialty Meats Doubles Business

When Eric and Rebecca Naber bought Battistoni Italian Specialty Meats from Rich Products in 2010, they did so believing it had tremendous growth potential.

Apparently they were right. The business on Dingens Street in Buffalo has nearly doubled its production levels since the purchase, to 5 million pounds of meat per year, and expects even more growth in 2012.

"We're pretty close to capacity," said Eric Naber. "If sales increase as expected, we will need to expand by mid-2012."

The company attributes the gains to its ramped up marketing efforts.

"People had been eating the product for years and loved it. It had tremendous name recognition, but people didn't know they could still find it," said Rebecca Naber.

Now at groceries stores such as Dash's, Wegmans, Tops and Budwey's, the products are much more visible thanks to splashy signs and prominent displays.
