Inline Plastics Corp. (Shelton, CT) announces the expansion of its facilities in Salt Lake City, UT and McDonough, GA in response to the continued growth of their innovative food packaging products.
Installation of a new large platform, roll fed thermoforming machine and attendant support equipment was recently completed at the Salt Lake City facility. The new production line, combined with the need for larger facilities to support the company’s continued growth, necessitated the addition of 47,000 sq. ft. of space to the facility. The Salt Lake City plant now comprises 156,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and warehousing space. Several new jobs are being created to support the facility's increased production capacity. Inline plans to produce several extensions to their popular Safe-T-Fresh® product line, as well as new grab-and-go foodservice containers, on the new production line.
Inline’s McDonough, GA plant, which opened in 2009, has been instrumental in the company’s steady growth in the Southeast. A new large platform thermoforming production line has also been added at the McDonough facility, along with several new jobs. The new line will double the facility’s capacity to produce the award winning Safe-T-Fresh® tamper evident line of containers, in addition to several products that are new to the market. The Georgia facility currently consists of a combined 158,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and warehousing space.
Existing and potential supermarket, foodservice, distributor and processor customers in the Southeast and West will realize several key benefits from the expansion:
- Shorter lead times: Reduced lead times and local product inventory will enable customers to carry lower levels of inventory, resulting in increased inventory turns.
- Increased flexibility on special orders or service situations: Production and inventory planning is optimized to reflect the specific product needs of each region.
- Local production capacity/capabilities: Enables Inline to satisfy increased regional volume demand/spikes as its customers grow their businesses.
