Lifestyle Foods Presents A Spicy & Chill Taco Salad With Only 160 Calories

YORK, Pa. — Time to start the Fiesta? Cue Lifestyle Foods' newest addition: the Taco Salad. The Taco Salad is the first of its kind of combine a cold salad with a hot topping in one grab-and-go container. It also sets itself apart from the standard "fast food" fare with its low calorie count — only 160 calories, while restaurant versions often contain upwards of 900 calories.

The new Taco Salad is topped by a blend of fresh tomatoes, corn, jalapeno peppers, black beans, and cheddar cheese. A tri-color tortilla strip accompanies the spicy mix for the perfect crunch. The Vegetarian-friendly salad is high in Vitamin A and Fiber, rich in Vitamin C, and a good source of calcium and iron.

Following in the footsteps of the innovative Soup and Salad line, Lifestyle Foods' new salad mixes a cold salad with hot toppings — the 40/140 salad. Forty (40 degrees) represents the general temperature of the lettuce, while one-forty (140 degrees) is the general temperature of the heated components of the item after microwaving.

Another unique feature to the new line is the dual-use cardboard sleeve wrapping the package exterior. Once the consumer slides it off of the package, instructions designate a pair of tabs that interlock to create a cradle to heat the taco mix container. Besides offering helpful green and fitness tips, the sleeve helps protect consumer fingertips from the microwavable heated soup.

Lifestyle Foods' new addition arrives in an eye-catching package that is also environmentally friendly. The sleeve is certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative and is recyclable, biodegradable and made from recycled materials. The plastic container is also recyclable through number 5 plastics programs.

Consumers will continue to enjoy their favorite Lifestyle Foods products due to the company's commitment to flavor and will now reap the added benefits of a more wholesome approach to grab-and-go eating. Along with their newest item, Lifestyle Foods also provides on-the-go healthy snacks and salads.
