Reser's Fine Foods Hosts 'America's Best Potato Salad Challenge'

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The ground is ready and the harvest is ripe!  Reser's® Fine Foods is in full swing of its second 'America's Best Potato Salad Challenge,' giving Kansas City Barbeque Society cooks and amateur home cooks across the nation the opportunity to prove that their spuds rule in a two-tiered competition of tasteful proportions. Competitors will have the chance at winning a trip to Las Vegas to compete in the championship event held at the World Food Championships with the winner taking home $10,000.

Barbecue and potato salad have long been heralded as the perfect couple, so it would only make sense to marry the two loves in side-by-side competition fields. This year, the Kansas City Barbeque Society will host six events as part of the Competitor Series of the 'America's Best Potato Salad Challenge,' and an additional nine events will be hosted online under the Consumer Series, inviting cooks from all kitchens to submit grandma's – or their own – famous recipe.

'People are passionate about potatoes!' states Lacey Werner, associate category manager. 'Last year, Kansas City Barbeque Society cooks whipped up some amazing potato salad recipes. We can't wait to see some new and exciting culinary innovations this year.'

The winner of Reser's 'America's Best Potato Salad Challenge' will be chosen from among the top finishers at six KCBS events and the top nine entries in the online recipe competition. The 15 finalists will go on to compete in Las Vegas for a chance to claim the victor's title at the championship event held at the World Food Championships. The grand prize for the winner is $10,000 and ultimate bragging rights. Are you up for the challenge?

Submissions for the Reser's 'America's Best Potato Salad Challenge' online recipe contest are now being accepted until July 12. The KCBS series of contests kicked off at the Rock'n Ribs BBQ Festival in Springfield, Mo. on April 19 and has five competitions running through November.

Registration, schedule of events and official rules for participation in Reser's America's Best Potato Salad Challenge can be found at kcbs.us/potatosalad.

Consumers are also invited to submit their recipes at resers.com/potatosaladcontest and enter for a chance to win online.
