A Woodland honey and specialty food company is expanding, and breaking ground a new custom building.
Z Specialty Food LLC celebrated its 40th anniversary and the groundbreaking of its new facility last week. The company sells honey and honey products, nut and fruit spreads and vegetable sauces under three different brand names.
Z Specialty has run out of space at its current facility at 1250-A Harter Ave. in Woodland, and is building a new $4 million, 20,000-square-foot production and retail facility at 1221 Harter Ave. The site will be a considerable upgrade from the current space, which barely has room for retail, and will include more office space, a retail store, production and shipping space and an on-site cold storage facility.
