2014 Perennial Introductions From Star Roses & Plants/Conard-Pyle

West Grove, PA — Fifteen new perennials – and one shrub – are among Star® Roses and Plants/Conard-Pyle’s new introductions for 2014.

“Perennials add variety to the garden and provide color all season long,” said Steve Hutton, president and CEO, Star® Roses and Plants/Conard-Pyle. “There is a lot of variety in this particular group – it’s one of our largest ever classes of new introductions.”

New for 2014 are several series of plants, including a new series of compact Penstemon called Penstemon Rock Candy, characterized by bright, bold colors, and new to the Suncrest Salvia Series, are three long-blooming, yellow varieties that are ideal for containers.

Greg Soles, perennial product manager for Star® Roses and Plants/Conard-Pyle, said the large crop of 2014 introductions ensures gardeners will have plenty of choices in style, color, and timing of blooms.

“There really is something for everyone in this group of introductions,” Soles said. “One of my personal favorites is the Veronica Moody Blues series, four new plants in shades of blue, mauve, and pink. In our trials, they re-bloomed up until fall.”

All of these plants will be available to consumers in 2014.
