All-America Selections Approves New Judges, New Display Gardens & New Treasurer

DOWNERS GROVE, IL – All-America Selections, the only non-profit organization for trialing and testing new ornamental and vegetable varieties for the home consumer, met recently during the American Seed Trade Association’s Annual Flower and Vegetable Seed Conference in San Diego, CA. During that meeting the following new officer, judges and Display Gardens were approved.

New Treasurer is Alex Augustyniak, General Manager of West Coast Seeds in Delta, British Columbia. Alex takes over as Patty Buskirk of Seeds By Design completes her term serving the AAS Board as Treasurer since 2013.

Recently approved judges, who are judging the 2018 AAS trials as their first trial are:

  • Brian Minter, Minter Gardens, added the Ornamental Seed trial in Chilliwack, B.C.

  • Mark Konlock, Green Bay Botanical Garden, added the Ornamental Vegetative trial in Green Bay, WI
  • Noah Schwartz, Neal Mast Greenhouse, Ornamental Seed and Ornamental Vegetative judge in Grand Rapids, MI
  • Robert Durgy, CT Ag Experiment Station, added the Ornamental Seed trial in Griswold, CT
  • Scott Evans, Nebraska Extension, Ornamental Seed judge in Omaha, NE
  • Sharon Rosen, Pure Line Seeds, Edible trial in Munich, MN
  • Solange Blais, Norseco, Ornamental Seed judge in Laval, QC
