Echinacea Cheyenne Spirit Wins AAS Award

WEST CHICAGO, IL – Kieft Seed is pleased to announce acceptance of a 2013 All-America Selections Award for Echinacea Cheyenne Spirit, a first-year flowering perennial with vibrant coloring and impressive flower power. Cheyenne Spirit’s excellent performance achieved high scores from 37 All-America Selections trialing stations across North America.

Bred in Elburn, Illinois, by PanAmerican Seed and Kieft Seed plant breeder Ping Ren, Cheyenne Spirit captures the spirit of the North American plains. It expresses sought-after shades of red, orange, purple, scarlet, cream, yellow and white in an interesting segregated mix. Its excellent genetics offer extreme branching for more flowers on every plant creating high-impact landscapes and fuller-looking containers.

“All-America Selections is the oldest and most established testing organization in North America. Kieft Seed is honored that Echinacea Cheyenne Spirit was selected as one of this year’s winners,” says Lisa Lacy, Global Product Manager. “It’s a win for our customers as well: Consumers seek out AAS winners for their gardens, and Cheyenne Spirit brings opportunities for growers at various price points with differing market and retailer needs.”

As a 2013 AAS winner, seed for Echinacea Cheyenne Spirit is available now for immediate sale. For further plant information and culture details, visit www.kieftseed.com.
