Edmond Flower Shop Trades Roses For Food Items

EDMOND — Visitors to Madeline's Flower Shop last year traded roses for nearly $400 and more than 870 food items in a charity campaign benefiting the Hope Center.

The Edmond flower shop and Rio Roses, a Miami, Fla., grower and distributor, are joining forces again this year in the campaign, Rio Roses for Food.

“It was very successful,” said Barbara Bilke, owner of Madeline's Flower Shop. “We are a little flower shop, and we collected 800-plus food items. We had so much stuff stacked up we had to keep boxing it up.”

They picked the Hope Center because they wanted the donations to stay in Edmond.
