Glacier® is a new white that we have available. It is closely related to the cream Boa Vista®. Apart from the colour and production, the growing characteristics seem to be similar. The production is very high. Test research in Holland as well as in the South of France show that Gacier® is the highest producer in our assortment!
This is a perfect variety for growers in the warmer areas.
As there is not a white variety with good heat tolerance on the market, Glacier® might be the answer. After all, good heat tolerance ensures a higher production after the summer. Moreover, a variety with good heat tolerance, produces far better in the early autumn when the high season starts again. And, not unimportant, it saves labour in harvesting useless blind stems. Especially for growers in the warmer areas where production does make the difference, we would like to recommend Glacier®! Compared with Whistler®, Glacier® has an far higher production, however of less quality. Himalaya is a more exclusive variety with impressive quality and impressive big flowers.
Glacier® also keeps good production figures in the winter, even without artificial lighting.
The flower is a little creme when it opens on the crop. We advise to harvest the crop slightly more closed; it will make the flower of Glacier® look more white.
