Matricaria As Snowflakes In A Christmas Bouquet

This summer flower is particularly spectacular in a Christmas bouquet. The many-petalled white variety in particular makes a Christmas bouquet especially decorative.

Camomile or not?

Its Latin name is Tanacetum parthenium. The herbaceous plant was called Matricaria parthenium for a long time. To make it even more complex, the flower is also called camomile, but the leaf of the true camomile is much finer and has a sweet scent. The scent of Matricaria is strongly herbal.

The flower was placed earlier in the group of medicinal plants in the monastery garden. Matricaria is thought to help alleviate migraines and is used in the treatment of women's complaints. That's where it gets its Dutch name: mother's herb. Now you can find the cheerful, white with yellow, tiny flowers in authentic cottage gardens or in the wild – especially in towns!
