Byron Calderón, former general manager of the company, confirmed the news and said that by mid-2012 the operation had been bought by the Dutch firm Agri Bio Group, which in turn merged later that same year, with German Dummen also producer of poinsettias.

Calderon said the new company, which already had operations in El Salvador, in Guatemala decided to close due to better conditions in El Salvador.
