Sakata Refocuses Majestic Giants II Line

Complexity has no place in today’s fast-paced, competitive market. That’s why Sakata Ornamentals is pleased to introduce a streamlined pansy portfolio which clearly consolidates Sakata’s many pansy choices into a complete, efficient, and simplified offering.

Ever since Sakata introduced the first F1 hybrid pansy in 1966, they have been committed to the pansy market. Today, as one of the industry’s largest pansy breeders, Sakata has identified the four key pansy segments in North America — extra-large flowering, large-flowering, medium-to-small flowering, and the Viola segment — and is presenting the best of the best within each category.

Their key series is the Majestic Giants II that offers extra-large flowered pansies with 4” blooms. For many years these varieties have been the preferred choice for fall and spring markets — a trusted and proven series with strong brand recognition among consumers. There are now 15 choices in this series.

The large-flowering segment will include selections from both the Dynamite and Crown series. Dynamite’s clear, crisp blooms complement Majestic Giants II blotched colors and will complete a grower’s core pansy program. The Crown Series offers tried and true genetics that are well recognized by the landscaper audience for pansies that perform extremely well in mass plantings due to their thicker petals and leaves.

The medium-to-small flowered pansy segment will include varieties from the Supreme and Ultima series while the Viola segment will offer Rebelina varieties which are ideal for premium baskets and containers.
