Selecta Reviews IPM 2012

This year’s IPM could again meet the expectations to be the leading fair in horticulture. From January 24 to 27 the 30th IPM attracted about 60,000 participants to the booths of more than 1,500 exhibitors. The interchange with colleagues and the maintenance of business contacts in an appropriate environment were as essential as the chance to get information about novelties and to gain market orientation. Especially the numbers of international visitors from more than 90 countries increased by 10% to 36% compared to last year.

The positive feedback confirms the success of the IPM. And again it was a very successful exhibition for Selecta, too. Visitors used the opportunity to inform themselves about our assortment at our booth in hall 2. In particular our new Calceolaria line Calynopsis attracted special attention. The orchid-like Calynopsis types with their unique appearance in good-mood-colours set the trend for the upcoming season. Especially eye catching was the presentation of the four Calynopsis varieties within the Bloom’s show Green City. Have a look at the picture gallery and see for yourself!

As in previous years there was a brisk demand and great interest in our poinsettia assortment. Introducing three novelties to our market-leading family Christmas Feelings® and adding new varieties to the category “competence in red” were strongly embraced. Many varieties were presented in several product types to meet the requirements of producers in different countries. Great attention was furthermore given to our mini poinsettia. Please read more in our article “Proven varieties for the production of mini poinsettia”.
