Jasper Kelly started Kelly Meats in Chicago in 1948. It began as a small business with only two stops, but they began to expand as time went on. After moving to four different locations in the city, the business made the move to the suburbs and changed the company name to Jasper Meats in 1991.
Jasper Kelly’s son and general manager Andy Lesniak’s cousin asked him to help out the family business and work with him at Jasper Meats. Lesniak had previously worked for Kraft Foods and had experience and knowledge in the food industry.
The warehouse location in Bloomingdale is the primary location for meat processing and packaging. The 25,000-square-foot space is occupied by an office, a storage room, a butchering room and several walk-in freezers.
