Golden West Food Group Launches Marinated CAB Brand Licensed Products

ERNON, Calif. – Golden West Food Group has launched a new line of marinated products, offering retailers premium beef cuts that can be mixed and matched with a selection of chef-created flavor profiles to form their own signature steak line.

Retailers can choose from a selection of cuts, including some lesser-known options like flat iron steaks, skirt steaks, tri tip, ball tips, as well as the traditional top sirloin London broil, ranch roasts and sirloin flap meat. The cuts are then paired with an array of flavor profiles, including Classic Steakhouse, Carne Asada, Barbacoa, Four Chili, Porcini Rosemary with Port Wine Sauce, Honey Bourbon, Jalapeno Lime and Beer, Chimichurri, Kansas City BBQ and many other flavors.

The marinated beef items are now available nationwide, and can currently be found at Meijer grocery stores throughout Michigan, Indiana and Ohio and COSTCO stores in the southeast United States.

“The launch of this premium Certified Angus Beef ® brand marinated line continues the long-established and well-loved connection that American consumers have for center-of-the-plate beef products,” said Zack Levenson, Senior Executive Vice President Golden West Food Group. “For 30 years, consumers have loved the full flavor and rich marbling of the Certified Angus Beef ® brand. At Golden West, we're delighted that they can now enjoy that authentic taste and tenderness in marinated meats as well.”

New line of premium entrees
In addition to its marinated line, Golden West also offers a variety of fully cooked entrees – all made from fresh Certified Angus Beef ® brand cuts.

The premium entrees utilize a special cooking process that flame-sears the beef to enhance its natural juices and flavors. The entrée sauces and gravies were developed by an award-winning executive chef and made from fresh ingredients, including herbs and vegetables, bringing a true white tablecloth restaurant experience to the home.

Golden West Certified Angus Beef ® entrees, as well as their premium Certified Angus Beef ® franks, contain higher protein and lower sodium nutritional profiles. In addition, the franks and Steak Chili are gluten free. All products have packaging that features recycled post-consumer content and vegetable inks, as well as reduced carbon footprint energy and water efficiencies.

Brett Erickson, Director of Value-Added Products for the Certified Angus Beef ® brand, praised Golden West’s new product line, both for its overall quality and flavor profiles.

“The tenderness and flavor in these items is something that you don’t usually experience with convenient items,” Erickson said. “Golden West has succeeded in balancing the high quality and superior flavor of our brand with products that are delicious, quick and easy to prepare.”
