Ontario Grocery Stores Pledge Increase In Ontario Beef Offering

BRAMPTON, ON – As advocates of Ontario beef, Zehrs Markets®, valu-mart®, Your Independent Grocer® and BloorStreet Market™ grocery stores (corporate and franchised retail stores of Loblaw Companies Limited – Loblaw) have moved to significantly increase their support for Ontario beef.

Join more than a dozen Ontario cattle farmers and their families, Loblaw representatives and the Ontario Minister of Agriculture as they explain what this new step forward will mean to Ontario grocery shoppers and Ontario cattle farmers and why Loblaw and its franchisees continue to be keenly focused on supporting Ontario beef.

WHAT:

•A special media event about how Ontario Cattle Feeders' Association (OCFA) are expanding their relationship with Loblaw to increase the offering of Ontario beef in approximately 150 of Loblaw's corporate and franchised Ontario grocery stores as well as introduce the Ontario Corn Fed Beef program.

WHY:

•According to research conducted by the Government of Ontario, 63 per cent of consumers said that support for Ontario farmers was a reason for buying Ontario produced or processed foods.
•Loblaw and all its corporate and franchised retail stores are committed to sourcing close to home to support local, regional and national Canadian producers and provide customers with fresh, wholesome food.
