No matter if you grew up here or if you're a transplant, when you bite into that crunchy breading and taste that tender juicy pork underneath, you know you're eating something that is truly Iowan.
The Iowa Pork Producers Association is now accepting nominations for its Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin contest from today until June 5.
"The name of the game is definitely acquiring as many nominations as possible at this point," said Kelsey Sutter, marketing and programs director for IPPA. "We will judge the top five with the most nominations in each of the eight IPPA districts — so 40 tenderloins."
