MAITLAND, Fla. – The Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association has presented its Customer of the Year Award to Meijer, a valued partner that has worked with producers to promote Florida products.
The annual award recognizes the important role that food service and retail merchandising play in the promotion and sale of fresh Florida produce. Meijer was a huge supporter of the Florida sweet corn growers this season.
“Meijer featured fresh Florida sweet corn at an affordable price for the customer that resulted in an outstanding volume movement for the growers and the sales agencies. Meijer ran better ads than any other retailer, and they pushed the produce virtually every week during the harvest season,” the nomination said.
The award was announced at FFVA’s 74th annual convention in Amelia Island on Sept. 27.
