FoodLink Transit Brings Visibility To Inbound Inventory

FoodLink®, the commerce and traceability platform that connects fresh food retailers and wholesalers to a network of over 2,000 growers, packers and shippers, has introduced FoodLink Transit, a cloud-based inventory tracking system that provides real-time visibility into the inbound status of freshly harvested produce.

Transit

FoodLink Transit is the latest addition to FoodLink’s growing suite of produce traceability solutions running over the FoodLink network. FoodLink Transit tracks the movement of fresh produce from its point of harvest to the receiving warehouse, also known as the “cut-to-cool” window. The solution helps harvest operations and remote packing facilities report on-demand inventories even when product is sourced from multiple packers and multiple growers. In addition, the FoodLink Transit dashboard ties together inventories and production operations around the world to provide a real-time tracking solution for fresh produce.

“Cut-to-cool is perhaps the most critical period in the movement of fresh produce, and it has a big impact on freshness at the store as well as the efficient management of warehouse operations,” said Ray Connelly, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, FoodLink. “With FoodLink Transit, our customers use real-time data to reduce shrink, increase overall quality and received more value from their traceability programs.”
