Interrupcion* Adds Michael Iannacci To Team

Brooklyn, NY. Interrupcion* Fair Trade announces the addition of Mike Iannacci to their U.S. team as Exchange Coordinator. Iannacci now plays a key role in overseeing logistics and inventory management along with his co-worker, Colin Sharpe. “We are growing rapidly and Mike is a great addition to our team of professionals dedicated to ensuring we provide customers with service excellence,” says Rafael Goldberg, CEO of Interrupcion* Fair Trade (TASTE ME DO GOOD* brand).

Iannacci learned the dedication required to grow and sell fruit commercially from his father, John, who owns and operates a small apple orchard in central Massachusetts. Mike grew up working closely with seasonal apple pickers in the H2A Agricultural Visa Program from Jamaica. Many of these workers owned farms themselves back home and shared with him how difficult it is to earn a living from agriculture, especially in developing countries. Working alongside farmers from different countries helped develop Iannacci’s interest in Fair Trade, a social movement advocating for higher wages, more favorable trading conditions, and elevated standards for the rights and safety of agricultural workers worldwide – the founding values of Interrupcion*.

After graduating from Ithaca College in 2008, Iannacci took a job managing an apple packinghouse with JP Sullivan and Co., where his father has worked for nearly 40 years. “It was the right starting place to learn the entire produce supply chain from the ground up,” says Iannacci. “I learned the production side of the business there, but I really wanted more exposure to the social and economic aspects of small farming.” At the 2012 New England Produce Show, Iannacci met associates of the Interrupcion* sales team who shared his passion for supporting the livelihoods of small farmers and eventually interviewed him for the position he now occupies.

Iannacci intends to use his production and logistics experience to boost efficiencies and improve customer service to keep up with the growing demand for TASTE ME DO GOOD* fruits and vegetables. “I’m eager to be involved in the growth of Interrupcion* and the TASTE ME DO GOOD* brand. It is a fantastic opportunity to work with this team, taking on the important task of protecting and supporting the people at the root of our success: our growers.”
