Along with barbecue sauce and fruit juice, Ontario vegetables will soon be the stars of in-store demos in U.S. grocery stores.
The Ontario Greenhouse Vegetables Growers, which represents more than 200 Ontario farmers who grow greenhouse tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers, has netted $181,000 in provincial and federal funding to run in-store demonstrations across the border.
“Our experience suggests that providing an opportunity to try a product first hand is one of the best ways to reach consumers,” Don Taylor, chair of the OGVG, said in a statement.
