'Produce Corner' Website Elevates Personal Produce Training

The Produce Corner With Bob Corey, which spanned 23 years as a local news insert on TV stations throughout the country and various segments on the Food Network for three years, is now available on YouTube and via the Produce Corner With Bob Corey website.

Having aired more than 3,000 segments in his TV career, Corey selected the best and most informative of these pieces (188 to date with 72 more to be added for a total of 260 segments) to air on the site.

Bob Corey, CEO, Corey Brothers, Inc., Charleston WV, says his vision is for the site to be an interesting and entertaining training and education tool to complement existing produce training programs. “The target audience is produce managers, retail staff and trainees; as well as chefs, apprentices, and culinary students who may not have the ‘user knowledge’ to convey information about an item to their customers. For example, how to prep, fix and prepare a dish,” says Corey.

The Produce Corner With Bob Corey also captures the rich history of the produce industry, encourages people to eat at least five servings of produce a day, as well as incorporates today’s “Fruits & Veggies – More Matters” messaging throughout the site and individual videos.

As a supporter of the Produce For Better Health Foundation and More Matters, the website offers hundreds of delicious recipes illustrated in various segments, which are easy to print and forward.

“Episodes and recipes are also available on the website to incorporate into produce personnel training,” says Corey. “For consumers, the site presents a rich reservoir of information that can positively motivate viewers to enjoy more fresh fruits and vegetables and live more healthfully via the helpful hints, tips, ideas and recipes.”
