Tanimura & Antle Hosts Tour de Fresh Riders At The Wharf Marketplace

SALINAS, Ca. – Tour de Fresh is a four-day cycling event that raises funds for the United Fresh Foundation’s Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools (LMSBTS). Produce industry participants and support crews enjoyed a pre-ride dinner, hosted by Tanimura & Antle at The Wharf Marketplace on Sunday night October 12th, to kick off their journey from Monterey to Anaheim. There are a total of 40 riders representing the produce industry raising a combined total of over $125,000 for LMSBTS.

“The Tanimura & Antle team far exceeded their Tour de Fresh goal of $15,000, raising a total of $16,430 as an individual team. We are so proud of them!” says Mike Antle, Executive Vice President. “We were thrilled to have featured our ‘Bounty of the County’ offerings from The Wharf Marketplace on Sunday to kick off this awesome event with healthy dinner offerings! To keep the momentum going, our partner Paul Vogel from QSI will be hosting the riders Wednesday night for their final dinner in Hermosa Beach before they cross the finish line Thursday morning in Anaheim.”

“We are pleased to be able to participate with Tanimura & Antle in any effort to increase consumption of fresh produce amongst the youth of America. We are excited to host the Tour de Fresh riders and celebrate their impressive 285 mile journey with a great dinner at Hermosa Beach,” says Paul Vogel from QSI Produce. “Events like this make it clear that produce is the best industry in the world.”
