SPRINGFIELD — Big Y Foods Inc., the family owned supermarket chain now building a major addition to its Springfield headquarters, announced a series of leadership transitions Wednesday.
The moves are meant to prepare the chain for its future in a challenging retail industry.
Current chairman and CEO Donald H. D’Amour will transition out of his day-to-day responsibilities in that role, the company said Wednesday. His cousin, Charles L. D’Amour, has been appointed CEO and will also continue in his role as company president, a position he’s held since 2006.
