COLFAX, Iowa — A new Fareway store is open for business in Colfax. It’s smaller than usual, but there’s a reason for that.
The building was previously Shugar’s Grocery, but the owner retired, so Fareway stepped in to make sure people didn’t have to go far for their groceries.
“A lot of people were looking forward to it because there’s no grocery store within 20 or 30 minutes of here without going to Altoona or Newton,” shopper Laney Creech said.
