Here’s what Kroger has on its Plate for 2020: Robotics, Delivery, and More

Kroger Co. can never rest comfortably. If it isn’t Walmart — its chief rival — cutting prices, it’s Amazon.com diving deeper into the grocery business in an effort to steal market share.

For a notoriously low-margin business, the supermarket industry sure does attract a lot of players. That’ s largely because so much is spent on groceries and everyone needs them.

That means Kroger — the 10th largest employer in the Memphis area, according to MBJ research — is always working to identify the next big thing, if it’s not catching up to what others are already trying. Here are a handful of areas Kroger will emphasize as the calendar turns to 2020:
