Just in time for the increased demand for seafood during the Lenten season (Feb. 13-March 30, 2013), the new Viking products include:
•Basil Pesto Tilapia: Made with a delicate garlic basil pesto sauce with a blend of Italian cheese to create the perfect homemade taste.
•Baja Seasoned Tilapia: Created with fresh cilantro, cumin, and a variety of chilies to add the perfect Mexican flair.
Viking Natural Tilapia fillets are an easy-to-prepare, great tasting and versatile menu option that delivers a variety of flavorful glazes and breading profiles for foodservice operators. The portfolio is comprised of natural cuts from the most premium cage-grown Tilapia available.
This lineup of fillets are ideal for full service and quick casual restaurants, hotel dining and catering, healthcare operators, business dining and college and university operators.
The two new Viking tilapia products are available in 3-4 oz servings to provide operators with more cost-effective portion control options. Both offer lower sodium levels: the Basil Pesto Tilapia contains just 270 mg per serving, and the Baja Seasoned Tilapia contains just 320 mg.
