Cincinnati-based grocer Kroger Co. is continuing to expand its St. Louis-area presence with plans to build another of its small-format, value-oriented Ruler Foods stores, this one in Jennings.
Henry Johnson, interim director of planning and economic development for the city of Jennings, said Kroger is looking to build a 16,000-square-foot Ruler Foods at 8937 Jennings Station Road, at the former site of the River Roads Shopping Center.
Jennings’ city council has approved Kroger’s initial site plan and the company will likely break ground soon, once it has final approvals of its construction documents, Johnson said. Kroger has not yet filed an estimated cost of construction.
