G.U.L.F. Seeks Public Comment On Certification Standard

Sustainability is vital to the survival of a fishery, and the Gulf of Mexico has some of the most productive fisheries in the world. However, the seafood landscape is changing, and many retailers and restaurants are requiring certifications for sustainable seafood. To help promote our fisheries and provide a standard that is tailored to the Gulf region, we have created the G.U.L.F. Standard

An important part of developing this standard is ensuring that stakeholders and interested parties have an opportunity to voice their opinion. G.U.L.F. has extended our public comment period for an additional 30 days. We welcome your input on this standard so that we can ensure it is thorough and appropriate. Please submit comments by February 13, 2015.

We will be sending out notifications specific to our new standard and the certification process as fisheries move forward. If you are interested in receiving these updates, please join the Certification Newsletter List.
