Mazzetta Subsidiary Makes Major Nova Scotia Acquisitions

Prince Edward Island, [Canada] –PEI-based Beach Point Processing Company announced the completed purchase of two properties totaling more than six acres in Clark’s Harbour, Nova Scotia. The acquisitions are the latest in a series of purchases associated with the Mazzetta Company, LLC and their growing family of lobster businesses including both Beach Point Processing and Atwood Lobster Company, of Spruce Head, Maine.

The Clark’s Harbour purchases are critical pieces that serve to increase both Atwood’s and Beach Point’s capacity to process, store, and ship Seamazz lobster and lobster products throughout the year.

“This purchase is consistent with our overall strategy to further vertically integrate our lobster supply chain, diversify our product offerings, and assure live lobster supply 12-months a year,” said Mazzetta Company Founder and CEO, Tom Mazzetta. “Strategic growth is essential in our ability to keep pace with our customers’ demand for lobster products, and we will continue to pursue opportunities in Canada to further add key assets.”

Increased capacity to store and ship lobster now enables Mazzetta Company to purchase and ship lobster from the coastal waters of Maine and Canada year-round. This includes the season that begins Monday, November 26 and runs through the end of May for the lobster grounds between coastal Maine and Nova Scotia.

The Clark’s Harbour acquisitions consist of two separate properties located on Cape Sable Island in the Gulf of Maine. The properties contain two main buildings housing a storage facility with holding tanks, and a warehouse.
