NFI Shrimp Council Launches Recipe Video Series

McLEAN, Va. – As recipe videos continue to dominate the digital space, The National Fisheries Institute’s Shrimp Council has produced a series of five videos in line with the trend. This first video, featuring Shrimp Scampi Skewers, hit the organization’s Facebook and YouTube pages last week, initially generating more than 76,000 views.

“One of The Shrimp Council’s missions is to promote shrimp as a delicious, easy-to-prepare food that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and introducing this video series was a major 2016 goal of the Council’s,” said Judy Dashiell, Senior Vice President with The National Fisheries Institute. “These recipe videos are attractive, engaging, and they show how easy it is to prepare shrimp. Consumers are flocking to these videos, and we recognize the timeliness of delivering content exactly the way they want it. The intent behind these quick shrimp recipe videos, which are each less than 1 minute in length, is to enhance craveability, influence purchase decisions and, in turn, get people eating more shrimp at home and in restaurants.”

The remaining segments in the video series will be released over the next four months and will showcase recipes for shrimp and pineapple salsa, shrimp fried rice, shrimp alfredo and baked popcorn shrimp.

To create the videos, The Shrimp Council partnered with Monica Lavin, the face behind popular lifestyle blog Lavin Label, and iMint Media, a video production company based in Brunswick, Georgia.
