New Maryland State Dairy Princess, Alternate Selected to Promote at Grassroots Level

Elizabeth Karides from the South Central region was named the 2021 Maryland State Dairy Princess, and Emily Stiles from Washington County was chosen as Alternate Maryland Dairy Princess on Wednesday, July 14, in Frederick, Md. Together, they will represent Maryland’s dairy farmers and engage consumers at the grassroots level with positive dairy messages.

Dairy Promoters From Five States Receive Training to Represent Industry at Grassroots Level

Nearly 100 dairy promoters from five states participated in a three-day virtual training to prepare to engage consumers at the grassroots level. American Dairy Association North East hosted the event on June 28-30, with help from New York State Dairy Princess Shelby Benjamin and State Alternates Elizabeth Hyman and Holly Niefergold.

This week, American Dairy Association North East addressed a disparaging animal activist article in the New York Daily News, by immediately responding to set the record straight. ADA North East worked with board president Audrey Donahoe of Clayville, N.Y., to draft and submit a positive letter to counter the misinformation in the article and to build trust in dairy.
