CA LGMA Kicks Off 2022 Leafy Greens Season With 86 Members

The fiscal year of the California LGMA began on April 1st, in alignment with the start of the leafy greens growing season on the Central Coast of California.   The LGMA currently has 84 certified member companies and two companies who are new to the organization and pending certification.

The California Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement (LGMA) has a new Compliance Officer. Alyssa Licata has been hired to replace Jonathan Field, who is retiring this month after serving in this important role since the LGMA was established in 2007.

California LGMA Endorses Pre-Harvest Testing to Reduce Outbreaks

Last week the California Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement (LGMA) Board endorsed new Pre-Harvest Testing guidance in an effort to prevent foodborne illness outbreaks associated with leafy greens. The guidance calls for pre-harvest testing of leafy greens products when risk assessments deem it necessary, specifically when grown in proximity to animals.

California LGMA Welcomes New Board Members and Bids Farewell to former CEO Scott Horsfall

Several new members have been added to the Board of the California Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement (LGMA). The LGMA Board met last week to welcome new members, elect officers and bid farewell to its former CEO Scott Horsfall who retired in February after 13 years of leadership with the organization.
