U.S. Dairy Companies and Retailers Partner to Reduce Hunger in Phoenix Area

The IDFA Foundation along with several leading dairy companies and food retailers donated more than 33,000 pounds of nutritious milk and dairy foods as well as $15,000 in financial contributions to St. Mary’s Food Bank in recent weeks to address hunger in Arizona. The donations were announced in Phoenix at the Dairy Forum 2024 conference hosted by the International Dairy Foods Association. Donations of nutritious milk, cheese, and yogurt were made by The Kroger Company, Diversified Foods, Inc., and Lactalis USA.

The IDFA Foundation, which promotes the health and wellbeing of people, communities, and our planet on behalf of U.S. dairy, donated $5,000 today to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. The donation came as more than 40 staff and board members of the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) completed a service project sorting and packing more than 14,000 pounds of food for the hungry at the food bank in Nashville.

IDFA Foundation Completes First Fiscal Year with Grants to Reduce Food Insecurity and Improve Diversity in Dairy Processing

The IDFA Foundation completed its first fiscal year by delivering three grants totaling more than $63,000 to leading nonprofits working to reduce food insecurity and advance and empower minority students entering careers in food and agriculture. The IDFA Foundation seeks to make an important contribution to people and communities on behalf of the U.S. dairy industry by providing grants to support individuals and organizations that work to advance human health and nutrition, improve environmental stewardship and sustainability, and enhance the welfare of people working in food manufacturing.

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) has named Matt Herrick as senior vice president of public affairs and communications and executive director of the IDFA Foundation.
