USDA Announces Appointments to the National Watermelon Promotion Board

The U.S. Department of Agriculture today announced the appointment of eight members to serve on the National Watermelon Promotion Board. The appointees will serve three-year terms from Jan. 1, 2020, to Dec. 31, 2022.

National Watermelon Promotion Board Foodservice Director Megan McKenna Promoted, Takes on Additional Responsibilities

In this role, McKenna will perform various marketing duties for the Foodservice program including event activations, media relations, and providing operators with assistance with ideation, usage ideas, education and promotion support, to name a few. McKenna will also serve as the primary point of contact for consumer, retail, foodservice, nutrition and sustainability research.

NWPB Announces Watermelon Resource Available for Registered Dietitians

The National Watermelon Promotion Board (NWPB) announces a newly developed “Wide World of Watermelon Registered Dietitian Toolkit.” The toolkit offers resources tailored for specific RD practice areas including media and communications, school nutrition, retail and supermarket, sports dietetics, private practice and foodservice.
